  • Overview

    SJS Executives is seeking an experienced electrical equipment repairer. Our ideal candidate will have experience disassembling, repairing, modifying, assembling, and testing a variety of electrical equipment and other non-electrical equipment within the material transport system and pneumatic tube system in the Engineering Department.

    Responsibilities

    • Refer to blueprints, schematics, and engineering and manufacturers' specifications.  
    • Works from work orders, verbal instruction and personal observation to perform maintenance and repair (scheduled and routine, as well as Emergency) to building service equipment such as: 
      • Automated material transport system
      • Automated modular sterilization washer
      • Pneumatic tube system
      • Electric cable and hydraulic elevators with auto-transfer devices
      • Portable equipment
      • Fixtures
      • Pumps
      • Air compressors
      • Vacuum systems
      • Ventilation systems
      • Conveyors
      • Relaying systems
      • Automatic alternator
      • Synchronizing equipment,
      • Temperature amplifiers and controls
      • Speed sensing units
      • Amplidyne units
    • Repairs or replaces motors, transformers, precision coils, brushes, seals, bearings, gears, leads, fields, armatures, solenoids, conveyor chains and take-up units, wiring, and other electrical or control parts.
    • Troubleshoot, repairs or replaces vacuum/blower motors, control boards, decontaminate pneumatic tube system when spills are detected, release wedged carriers within the system.
    • Monitor and provide chemicals used for sterilization and decontamination of all surgical and medical modules.
    • Tests electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage drop, ground shorts, opens, and overheating.
    • Reconditions and fabricates obsolete parts and components of the existing conveyor system using mills, lathes and other machine tools.
    • Modifies and restores entire units to serviceable condition using any necessary electrical, electronic, mechanical or steam fitting techniques.
    • Prototype and review new overhaul and test procedures on new technology being introduced into the existing MTS and PTS.
    • Uses a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, frequency meters, transfer impedance meters, ohmmeters, meggers, growlers, resistance bridges oscilloscopes, inductance and capacitance testers, frequency counters and specialized test equipment
    • Setup and operates computer-controlled automatic test equipment (ATE)
    • Knowledge of electrical theory to complete repairs on a variety of complex electrical systems and equipment containing diodes, transistors, and electronic devices in the circuitry.

    • Knowledge of mechanical theory and of pneumatic and hydraulic principles to isolate, repair, or replace faulty components such as hydraulic/pneumatic pressure regulators and hydraulic volume controls on many different types of equipment.

    • Knowledge of the maintenance of bearings, shafts, slip ring surfaces, and fitting and assembly of components.

    • Skilled in performing specific checks and tests of coils, resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, relays, solenoids, switches, and related items using electrical and electronic test equipment to measure resistance, voltage, capacitance, and similar characteristics and response of the mechanism to an actuating signal following established test procedures.

    • Skilled in setting up and operating computer-controlled automatic test equipment (ATE).

    • Skilled in various soldering techniques. 

    • Skilled in replacing springs, bearings, brushes, gears, cams, clutches, and adjusting belts, gears, brakes, clutches or related parts.

       

    Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizen - Proof of citizenship will be required
    • Valid Driver's License - "C" Class
    • Able to pass background check 
    • OSHA 10 certification - obtained before start date
    • CPR certification - obtained before start date
